Northern Ireland should adopt equal laws on gay adoption

December 2011 saw the beginnings of a legal challenge against the Stormont executive in relation to gay and unmarried couples’ rights to adopt and provide a loving and supportive home to children.

The NI Human Rights Commission claims that the current arrangements against unmarried and civil partnership couples discriminate and breach their human right.
